We love our pets! Whether it is the silly urban chickens with their backyard antics and fresh delicious eggs or the visually impaired rescue mutts we prefer, there is rarely a dull moment around our house.
Meet Mason, also known as Mr. Peebody or Barkie McPhearson. Mason joined our family in 2012. He is a poodle terrier rescue and blind in one eye due to a birth defect and we think he is (imperfectly) perfect. He does like to chase his “step-sisters”, the Chickens, and spends his spare time chewing on squeaky squirrel toys, going for walks and lounging on the sofa with Mom and Dad.
We keep a flock of urban chickens. It all started with three hens several years ago and now we have six hens. These girls are pets, each with a name and personality. They give us the best fresh eggs on most days and always entertaining. Megan is pretty sure that Hung did not envision himself being a “chicken herder”, but now he loves those hens.
