Updates!

Happy New Year!

2018 is here! Today we spent it doing just want we wanted. No rushing or stressing – did a little outdoor playtime (the sun was out!), a nice long nap and then even some craft time (with football on in the background). The best part was we eventually all ended up crafting together. Gingerbread people, even though technically out of season, star in several of our favorite books right now.

This is a picture of all my ‘boys’ (dog included, be still my heart!) hanging out room while I was sewing on a quilt. I hope that today sets the tone for the year. IMG_2976

Creating the adoption team – attorney!

One of the ways to get in contact with us about adopting your child is through our attorney. When we first were considering adoption options, the thought of working with an attorney felt cold and procedural. I have to say that it has been anything but that. We ultimately completed our first son’s adoption with the help of Albert and his team from LIRHUS & KECKEMET LLP.  I have no doubt that they will again guide both us and our expectant/birthfamily smoothly though the process.

If you have questions about us or would like to speak with them about potentially establishing an adoption plan, please feel free to give them a call, even collect, at 206.728.5858, ask for Joan and reference our case file number 1948.

It is really all about finding the right team that makes you feel comfortable with the decisions and process – that has been our experience for sure.

Adoption is all around us

Had a great get together last night some very talented and genuine ladies from my Master program. I shared our exciting news about adoption, only to find out that TWO of them wither pursuing adoption as well. Both were looking at foster-to-adopt programs. IN addition, one of the other ladies has an adopted daughter, who joined their family as a newborn. All I could think about was how awesome it will be for our future child, to feel comfortable with adoption, seeing all the great families and children “just like them”. Loved no matter what!
